Mr. Smith has represented various leading oil and gas companies in the sale of various refineries, pipelines, distribution facilities, service stations and related real property assets. In addition, Mr. Smith has extensive experience representing public and private entities and financial institutions in an array of real estate, land use, environmental, redevelopment, affordable housing, transportation, general corporate and regulatory matters in both the United States and internationally. Mr. Smith has represented various universities, community colleges, school districts, charter schools and served as the General Counsel for one of the largest school districts in California.
Mr. Smith has been a speaker at numerous seminars relating to leasing, real estate acquisition and doing business in Mexico. He has also been a speaker at the California State Bar Annual Convention, the Real Property Section of the California State Bar, and the Crocker Symposium on leasing. Mr. Smith previously served in the White House as Staff Assistant to the Special Assistant to the President for Hispanic Affairs and has worked for various clients drafting legislation for municipalities and the State of California.
